COVID-19 ANTI-CONTAMINATION SAFETY STANDARDS
Our priority is to guarantee an exclusive and relaxed food and wine experience. For this reason we are implementing a strict protocol in full compliance with all safety and hygiene regulations.
The safety protocol provides for the following:
Access to the winery will be limited to small groups.
Guests may enter Poggio di Bortolone premises if they are aware that they do not have symptoms of influenza, a temperature above 37.5°C or other symptoms of respiratory infection (in compliance with the Authority’s provisions requiring them to inform the family doctor and the Health Authority, staying at home).
Access will not be allowed in cases where, in the 15 days prior to the visit, symptoms of influenza have been shown or contact has been made with people who have tested positive for COVID-19 or who come from areas at risk according to WHO guidelines.
Access to Poggio di Bortolone’s premises will be allowed only if the person is wearing the appropriate mask, which must be worn correctly for the entire duration of the visit. In the event that you do not have one, we will provide you with disposable masks with adequate safety features.
Suitable hand sanitizers will be provided at the entrance and during the itinerary.
You will be asked to follow the guide’s instructions and to maintain, at all times during the visit, a minimum distance of at least 1 metre from the other participants.
The tastings will be guaranteed and carried out upon reservation, with single-seat, spaced out and with food pairing (where applicable) in single portions.
Finally, we remind you that there will be periodic sanitization of the rooms, spaces and seating.

You can enter Poggio di Bortolone’s internal and external areas if you are aware that you do not have flu symptoms, temperature over 37.5°C or other symptoms of respiratory infection (in compliance with the provisions of the Authority that require you to inform your family doctor and the Health Authority, staying at home).
You can access Poggio di Bortolone’s internal and external environments if in the 15 days prior to the visit you have not shown flu symptoms, have not come into contact with subjects who tested positive for COVID-19, and do not come from areas at risk according to WHO indications.
Access to Poggio di Bortolone’s internal and external areas will be allowed only if you are wearing the appropriate mask, to be worn correctly for the entire duration of the event, except when you are seated at your table for wine tasting. In case you do not have them, we will provide you with disposable masks with adequate safety features.
At the entrance and during the route, suitable hand sanitizers will be provided.
You will be asked to follow the indications of Poggio di Bortolone’s staff and to maintain, at all times during the event, a minimum distance of at least 1 meter from the other participants.
The access to the event is guaranteed only after online booking and the wine-food tasting will take place with individual and well spaced seating.
Finally, it should be remembered that there will be periodic sanitization of the rooms, environments and seating.
General standards of behavior for visitors:
Visits to the vineyard and movements around the estate are allowed only if they are accompanied by Poggio di Bortolone staff.

The use of the mask is always mandatory, except when you are sitting at your own table for wine tasting.
All visitors are kindly requested to always follow the Poggio di Bortolone staff’s instructions.
In the event of an emergency (fire, natural disaster) stay calm, do not move away from your accompanying person, follow the instructions given by the guide and use the escape routes indicated by the appropriate signs.
Is it possible to book a guided tour online?
Of course, choose the tasting that suits you best, enter the date, the number of people participating and the language. Fill out the form with your details and make the request, we will reply confirming the availability of the chosen visit as soon as possible by sending you the payment link to confirm the booking. You will receive a confirmation email and, attached, a voucher with the summary data of your booking.

What does the cost of the visit include?
The price includes:
- Tour of the cellars accompanied by a company guide;
- Wine tasting, plain or paired with gastronomic specialties, depending on the type of experience chosen.
Can I book for over 20 people?
Surely, you can send us an email to tasting@poggiodibortolone.it to organize a private event.
Should we wear comfortable clothes?
Yes, if the tasting chosen includes a vineyard tour, it is advisable to wear comfortable shoes.
Does the company have a parking lot?
Yes, our estates are equipped with an internal car park where you can safely leave your vehicle.
Are pets allowed?
At Poggio di Bortolone, small-legged friends are welcome, as long as they are inside a pet carrier.
Is there a service in place of the wine tasting for children under 18?
Yes, for children under 18, who accompany adults during the guided tour, a service is provided to replace the tasting which includes a juice (at all times of the tastings) and a sandwich (during tastings at 13.00 in Marsala; during tastings at 12.00 and 21.00 in Pantelleria). When booking, enter the number of minors present in the appropriate field (click here for the booking form). The service dedicated to minors, in place of the tasting, is free.
Are there any combinations for vegetarians, vegans and celiacs?
Yes, for each tasting we have provided alternative combinations for vegetarians, vegans and celiacs. Remember, when filling in the booking form, to enter, as a note, the number of vegetarians, vegans or celiacs.

The historic wine cellars of Poggio di Bortolone welcome people with disabilities, guaranteeing a visit to every part of the wine cellar.

What are the payment methods for the purchase of products in the wine cellar?
At our winehouses you can pay in cash or with the main credit cards (Bancomat, Mastercard, Visa, Maestro, American Express, Satispay).
Is it possible to ship wines purchased in a winehouse?
It is possible to ship throughout Italy, for shipments outside the Italian territory please contact our staff. Orders are shipped within 7 business days of your visit.
Are my bottles safe during transport?
Yes, purchases are shipped via our trusted courier. If the bottles arrive damaged, write as soon as possible to shop@poggiodibortolone.it with the details of the shipment (name, surname) and we will arrange the replacement.

What are the shipping costs?
Free shipping in Italy for orders over six bottles, orders of less then six bottles we required a contribution of 10,50 Euros. Shipments out Italy request a quote to shop@poggiodibortolone.it
In which countries is it possible to ship?
With our service we can ship to Italy, to the EU (except for the following states: Switzerland, Norway). We do not ship to other countries.
